yeah, but it’s “Flash”. You must make it different.. It’s about “CSS Award” right?
Just suggested:)
@Erwin: Not reading the previous comments regarding this issue right?
Why the Flash site on CSS Award??????????????
Way to go Maksymilian! To create innovation we need to boldly try new things to push whats possible. What if you can combine HTML5 and Flash? or create a totally new experience from all these technology. The possibilities are really endless. define our own limits. We need to utilize what’s available, rethink and reshape it. Innovation comes by shifting your perspective. CSS existed before, but when we changes our perspective, we unlock the door to greater heights.
I absolutely agree with John Paul. I also think it’s one of the best websites here; very inspiring. I don’t get the purists – the customer does not care about your “I hate Flash, bla bla” whining. They want it to bee cool and still have the possibility of SEO and SEM. Well Rain’s solution is elegant, attractive and satisfies both needs. Look at the stats – most users have Flash installed already so what’s the fuzz about?
Congrats guys on doing a great job!
A bit of explanation:
The simple anatomy of the site:
Site is HTML over Flash, while Pixel space is 3 layer flash and html controls (controllers are all HTML code). They are controlled and animated via javascript. Therefore 30% of the site are in Flash and the rest, CSS/HTML and javascript.
It’s a site that layers both Flash (AS3, Papervision), CSS/HTML and Javascript. Why stop on using “PURE CSSS” if you can use other available technology to create a unique experience. It pushes on what can be done not by being biased on the pure css implementation but integrating other available techniques. Dig deeper, soon you’ll realize the complexity of it. I think The CSS awards is not just about showcasing pure CSS works, but what CSS can do to once work.
We rather keep it simple to keep people thinking that its just something.
We will be explaining the inner workings of it nonetheless.
If you find bugs, we would love to hear it so we can fix it.

I don’t understand, Rain Creative Lab Portfolio it is a cool FLASH background.
Pixel Space and Explod Pixel is just a Flash … with a lot of bugs…
I think have a lot of better cool sites PURE CSS to wins a “site of day”….
Pixel space and 90% of the site are in flash. This is CSS or Flash Awards?
WOW! I hate flash as a general rule but when executed like this there’s no better medium.
Awesome!
